The Central Social Welfare Board (Delhi) under their scheme of Working women’hostel for low income group, allotted certain grants to construct the hostel building. The ASHI, Maharashtra Branch with the help of donors and patrons constructed the building. The objective is to reach out to needy working girls/ womenwho can not afford hostel accommodation in a city like Mumbai.

Many young girls and women from within or outside Maharashtra , take up jobs in Mumbai for better work opportunities. Many girls have to stay away from their home town in order to avail training for better employment. For single working women, a secure and safe accommodation is a necessity. Getting employment or admission in a suitable institute is easy but not easy to get an affordable accommodation. At present 53 women are given accommodation at the hostel. All essential facilities like indoor games, television, newspapers, magazines etc are provided.
